The Commonwealth Games is a world class Sports event, held after every 4 years participating typically around 5,000 athletes around the world. The last Commonwealth Games was held in Melbourne, Australia from 15-26 March 2006. The next Commonwealth Games in 2010 will be held in India, New Delhi, the city with a density of population of 14 million. India will host the Commonwealth Games for the first time and the second time in the Asian Continent.
Only six teams have attended every Commonwealth Games, namely Australia, Canada, England, New Zeland, Scotland and Wales. Amoung these countries Australia has been the highest scoring team for ten games, England for seven games and Canada for one game.
Delhi is under full preparation for the Games with full fledge infrastructure development , new roads , metros, railways, new transport systems of low floor air-conditioned buses and many more , giving an international style to the Delhi, the capital of India. There are currently 53 members of the Commonwealth of Nations, and 71 teams participate in the Commonwealth Games. I will keep posting the list of the countries participating in the games and schedules and venues very soon.
